Speech I Wrote and DeliveredMike McGull wrote in The Boston Globe, "Getting married, there's nothing revolutionary about it -- it's something you do with the person you love."Here I am to spread the message, the need for equality in all aspects of life. Who are we to decide who can marry who? Who am I to stand against the love two people share? Whether gay, straight, bisexual, or lesbian, one should be able to make the decision of marriage for themselves. I do not understand how anyone could say that two hearts can not become one, that two lives can not be shared. We all crave love, yet there are those willing to go out of their way to stop someone else's happiness? It is madness that people wish to stand in the way of another's dream. Refusing people the right to marry is like refusing one the right to smile, or speak, it should not be done. It is completely unethical, so here I am to ask for you to understand, and put yourself in the position where you are being told that you can not be with the one you love.
